AFFECTED VEHICLES:

DESCRIPTION:

It has been identified that on PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) the crankcase ventilation hose may crack which may lead to non compliance with evaporative emission legal requirements. Also, the oil trap control valve membrane may over time crack due to chemical degradation. If any the above mentioned conditions occur, the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will illuminate and there will be an unexpected noise coming from the engine.

Repair procedure:





Follow repair procedure in Vida for replacement of the oil trap/filter housing with the addition of the vent hose replacement shown in the instructions.

Vida instructions for replacement of oil filter housing:

Profile vehicle in Vida then follow repair procedure under: INFORMATION REPAIR.

Removal, replacement, and installation:

2 Engine with mountings and equipment

22 Lubricating and oil system

221 oil pump and line

Oil trap

Replace oil filter housing with new part # 30788494

Additional instructions as follows:





Service:

Remove upper intake manifold replace ventilation hose.

Note!
Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.

Remove the screws.





Remove the battery cover.

Angle up the inlet pipe and install an extension or suitable brace as support.

^ The lower hose clamp.

Note:
will be removed with the replacement of the oil filter housing.

^ crankcase ventilation hose

^ disconnect sensor

Install:

New hose p/n 31251213 and clamp p/n 976561.

Important:
Be sure to check oil level and top up as needed.
