Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-200F
Condition
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers that the engine coolant temperature (ECT), interpreted by the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor, does not pass -30 °C a set time after starting from cold (lower than -30 °C).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed within 5 minutes with the engine running. Decisions about a faulty sensor can only be made if the engine coolant temperature (ECT) at start up is lower than -30 °C.
Substitute value
- The cooling fan runs at low-speed.
Possible source
- Contact resistance in the connector
- Damaged engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.
Fault symptom[s]
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- Engine difficult to start when warm
- Uneven idle
- The engine stops, but only when it is at operating temperature
- The engine cooling fan (FC) runs continuously even when the ignition is switched off.
