Removal

Preparatory work
Remove the final drive. See: Final drive, replacing Final Drive, Replacing.

Removing the bushing




Position the final drive in stand 999 2250 SEPARATOR 999 2250 Separator and fixture 999 5297 ENGINE FIXTURE 999 5297 Engine Fixture with corresponding screws, marked with 1 on the screw head.
When removing the bushing use puller cylinder 951 2564 Hydraulic tool 951 2564 Hydraulic Tool or 999 5575 PULLER CYLINDER USED WITH HYDRAULIC PUMP -5576 999 5575 Puller Cylinder Used With Hydraulic Pump -5576 with corresponding pump 999 5576 HYDRAULIC PUMP 999 5576 Hydraulic Pump.
Position connecting rod 999 5588 Puller rod 999 5588 Puller Rod in the puller cylinder and sleeve 7078-2 against the puller cylinder and the bushing. Position counterhold 999 7078 Press tool 999 7078 Press Tool with washer 7078-1. Turn the counterhold so that the cut out is against the radius on the final drive housing and so that it is supported on the cast surrounding surface.
Press out the bushing

Installation

Marking the bushing and the final drive housing




In order to obtain the correct position of the bushing during installation, make a mark opposite the cut out in the edge of the bushing and straight down the side.
Make a mark opposite the edge, between the cast surface and the machined surface on the final drive housing, as illustrated.
Place the bushing marking opposite the marking on the final drive housing.

Installing the final drive housing




Use puller cylinder 951 2564 Hydraulic tool 951 2564 Hydraulic Tool alternatively 999 5575 PULLER CYLINDER USED WITH HYDRAULIC PUMP -5576 999 5575 Puller Cylinder Used With Hydraulic Pump -5576 with corresponding pump 999 5576 HYDRAULIC PUMP 999 5576 Hydraulic Pump.
Position connecting rod 999 5589 Puller rod bushing replacement M12 L=150 mm 999 5589 Puller Rod Bushing Replacement M12 L=150 mm in the puller cylinder and counterhold 999 7078 Press tool 999 7078 Press Tool against the puller cylinder and the bushing final drive housing. Turn the counterhold so that cut out is against the radius on the final drive housing and so that it is supported on the cast surrounding surface.
Lubricate the end of the bushing and outer sleeve. Use a small amount of petroleum jelly. Position washer 7078-1 with the flat side against the bushing and lightly install the connecting rod. Turn the bushing to the correct position, as above. Press the bushing so that the flange on the bushing is against the final drive housing.

Finishing
