Checking the camshaft position (CMP) sensor and rotor
Check the connector for the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the rotor on the camshaft for damage. Check through the camshaft position sensor hole.
Check that the camshaft position (CMP) sensor is securely installed in the correct position.
Check that the camshafts are set correctly.
Check the ground lead between engine control module (ECM) terminal #A65 (#A65) and camshaft position (CMP) sensor 3. Check for an open-circuit.
Remedy as necessary.
