INTRODUCTION
- NOTE! Read through the whole installation instruction before starting the work.
- The illustrations display the procedure in order of operation. The order of operation is repeated in the text section.
Bluetooth, Mute kit
- Carefully pry off the panel above the joint between the sill trim panels. Use a weatherstrip tool.
- Remove the cover panel.
- Detach the right-hand front door's sill trim panel. Pull it away at the front edge so that the clips release. Continue backwards until the remaining clips have released.
- Unhook the sill trim panel from the B-pillar panel.
- Remove the panel in the right front seat attachment on the second seat row by pressing in the lock catch (1) on the top side and pull the panel forward.
- Remove the screw.
- Press in the catches (1) and remove the seat panel.
- Remove the screw.
- Fold the backrest forward and slide the seat forward as far as possible.
- On cars with two rows of seats the seat cannot be slid forwards.
- Remove both rear panels (1) by pulling them straight up.
- Remove the screws.
- Lift out the seat.
Note! Exercise care when doing this so that the trim or door panels are not damaged.
- Disconnect the upper part of the sill molding at the rear edge. Remove the seat belt from the end mounting.
- Using a weatherstrip tool, carefully press the locking tab so that the seat belt releases from the end mounting.
- Pull the sill molding upwards until the three clips release.
- Angle the sill moulding out from the B-post panel.
Applies to cars with two rows of seats
- Fold up the floor hatch (1). If the floor hatch is equipped with a grocery bag holder, the holder is secured with a strap on both ends of the storage compartment. Detach the straps.
- Remove the underlying storage compartment.
- Remove the floor hatch by folding it almost completely closed and pulling it backwards from the mountings until it releases.
Applies to cars with three rows of seats and integrated carrier bag holder on the underside of the floor hatch
- Fold up the floor hatch (1).
- Detach the two straps on the underlying panel. Lift up the rear edge of the panel, fold the floor hatch back towards the panel and lift out the floor hatch with the panel.
Applies to cars with three rows of seats without an integrated carrier bag holder
- Fold up the floor hatch (1) at the rear edge and lift it out.
- Remove the floor hatch (1).
- Remove the side panel on the right-hand side.
Only applies to cars with external amplifier
- Slide the right-hand seat all the way back and then completely upright at the front edge.
- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.
Note! Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.
Only applies to cars with internal amplifier
- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.
Note! Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.
Steps 12-24 only apply to cars with internal amplifier.
- Remove the center console's right-hand side panel by pulling it away starting at the front edge and then backwards until all the clips have released.
- Remove the screws and sound proofing bracket.
- Turn the ignition key to position II.
- Move the gear selector lever to its rearmost position.
- Use a weatherstrip and pry off the gear selector panel at the rear edge.
- Press in the catches and remove the panel.
- Remove the two screws.
- Remove the bracket with the A/C panel and radio from the center console. Pull from the lower edge and then downwards until it releases from the mounting at the upper edge.
Note! Note how the cable is routed for the Bluetooth system's control panel at the upper left-hand corner.
- Remove the connectors.
- Lift out the front mute relay, which is positioned at the rear edge of the opening of the center console.
- Lift up the foam tape slightly.
- Unplug the connectors.
- Take the two cable harnesses from the kit and connect these to the removed connectors.
- Connect the new cable harnesses to the relay.
- Fold the tape back into place.
- Remove the foam tape from the kit and cut it in the center.
- Wrap some tape around each connector.
- Reinstall the relay.
- Pull out the yellow cable on the right-hand side of the center console.
- Plug in the connectors.
- Reinstall the radio / A/C unit by first hooking it at the upper edge. Then press upwards and angle the lower section in. At the same time, check that the cable for the control panel is correctly located.
- If the radio / A/C unit does not fit at the lower edge, check for trapped wiring.
- Reinstall the screws.
- Route the cable from the center console to the lower section of the right-hand A pillar under the carpet.
Steps 25-33 only apply to cars with external amplifier.
- Slacken off the amplifier screws (1) under the right-hand front seat.
- Lift the amplifier out.
- Use a weatherstrip to remove it from its recessed position.
- Place it upside down as illustrated.
- Take the mute relay that is under the front left-hand corner in the recess.
- Lift up the foam tape slightly.
- Unplug the connectors.
- Take the two cable harnesses from the kit and connect these to the removed connectors.
- Connect the new cable harnesses to the relay.
- Fold the tape back into place.
- Remove the foam tape from the kit and cut it in the center.
- Wrap some tape around each connector.
- Reinstall the relay.
- Route the cable from the location of the amplifier, out under the seat at the joint for the floor mats and towards the sill.
- Do not damage the cable terminal when routing the cable.
- Reinstall the amplifier.
Applies to all cars
- Guide the cable down between the carpet and the door sill as far as possible to the floor and route it along the right-hand side of the car on to the rear edge of the right-hand rear door's opening.
- Route the cable by the front right-hand seat mounting on the right-hand seat in the second row of seats.
- Pull away the mat from the front edge of the right-hand side panel in the cargo compartment.
- Route the cable harness along the right side of the right seat's placement in the second row of seats, towards the front edge of the rear wheel housing.
- Route it further on the left-hand side of the seat belt's lower mounting, between the support bracket for the right-hand seat and wheel housing, and out at the left-hand side of the wheel housing.
Applies to cars with three rows of seats
- Guide in a wire or cable (1) at the rear edge of the right-hand side panel and along its inside, above the load securing eyelet brackets.
- Route the wire/cable to the front edge of the side panel.
Applies to cars with three rows of seats
- Tape the cable (2) to the wire (1) and pull it forward at the rear edge of the side panel.
Applies to cars with two rows of seats
- Route the cable on the left-hand side of the seat belt's mounting at the front edge of the wheel housing, inside the carpet at the front edge of the side panel, between the side panel and the rear cargo floor support, to the Accessory Electronic Module (AEM).
- Remove the two screws in the bracket for the Accessory Electronic Module (AEM) and lift up the entire unit.
- Disconnect the large connector on the Accessory Electronic Module (AEM). First press in the catch (A). Pull the black locking handle (B) in the direction of the arrow until a click is heard.
- Disconnect the connector from the accessory electronic module.
- Remove the black catch holding the black connector socket in place in the connector by pulling in the direction of the arrow.
- Remove the black connector socket. Insert a pointed object in the hole on the other end of the connector. Press the connector socket out.
Note! The numerical markings on the top and bottom of the black terminal pin are extremely small, so be careful when installing the cable.
- Connect the yellow (Y) cable to terminal 11 (telemute) in the black connector for the Accessory Electronic Module (AEM).
- Reinstall the black switch in the connector. Lock into place using the catch.
- Press the connector into the Accessory Electronic module. Secure using the black locking handle.
- Reinstall the Accessory Electronic Module (AEM) with bracket.
- Secure the excess of the yellow cable using a tie strap.
Install:
- panel for gear selector.
- the sill trim panels.
- cover splice for sill trim panels.
- sound proofing.
- the side panel for the center console.
- the seatbelt.
Note! Check that the seat belt is secure by jerking it hard in an upwards direction.
- the seat. Tighten the screws to 50 Nm (36.8 lbf.ft.).
- seat moldings.
- the side panel.
- floor hatches.
- Turn the ignition key to position II.
- Reconnect the battery negative lead
- Download the software for the accessory's function following the service information in VIDA.
Carry out a function test as follows:
- Turn the ignition key to position II.
- Turn on the radio.
- Check that the Bluetooth system's control panel lights up.
- Press the round button in the middle of the control panel. The radio should mute and a voice should be heard.
- Press the button with the red handset symbol. The voice should stop and the radio sound.
