Bevel Gear






Bevel gear, replacing

Removal

Remove:
- the front manifold. Refer to: Exhaust manifold/gasket, cylinder 1, 3, 5 and 7 (bank 1), replacing, B8444S Exhaust Manifold/Gasket, Cylinder 1, 3, 5 and 7 (Bank 1), Replacing
- the rear manifold Refer to: Exhaust manifold/gasket, cylinder 2, 4, 6 and 8 (bank 2), replacing, B8444S Exhaust Manifold/Gasket, Cylinder 2, 4, 6 and 8 (Bank 2), Replacing
- the propeller shaft from the bevel gear's drive flange Refer to: Propeller Shaft




When changing to new bevel gear, this part shall be scrapped.




When changing to new bevel gear, this part shall be scrapped.

Installation

Grease splines using appropriate lubricants.









Tighten bevel gear to transmission acc. to Tightening Torque

Only applies when changing to new part




Discard bolts.




Tighten manifold bracket for bevel gear acc. to Tightening Torque
Important! Use new screws!




Tighten bracket bevel gear acc. to Tightening Torque




Tightening torque: M6 acc. to Tightening Torque

Only applies if the original part is to be reused




Tightening torque: bracket bevel gear acc. to Tightening Torque




Tightening torque: M6 acc. to Tightening Torque




Tightening torque: M6 acc. to Tightening Torque




Tightening torque: M6 acc. to Tightening Torque

The bevel gear is supplied filled with oil, however, always check the oil level.
Warning! Be prepared to collect draining fluid.
Check the oil level. See Service and Repair
Tightening torque: level plug acc. to Tightening Torque

Install in the reverse order.
