Removal

Preparations
Check that all hoses are undamaged. Check that all hoses are in place with their hose clips tightened.

Connect the test pressurization equipment




Remove the air cleaner (ACL) module. See: Air filter module Service and Repair.
Disconnect the hose clamp at the air cleaner (ACL) module. Allow the rubber hose to remain in place on the intake manifold. Connect tool 999 5545 ADAPTOR 999 5545 Adapter and pressure regulator 999 5544 REGULATOR 999 5544 Regulator to the rubber hose on the intake manifold. Tighten the hose clamp.

Check




Remove the oil filler cap. Connect the compressed air hose. Adjust the regulator to obtain a maximum pressure of 0.3 bar.
There may be a gentle hissing sound from the oil filler opening. This is due to the opening of an intake valve and the leakage of cylinder pressure past the piston rings. If a leak is suspected, spray a soap solution onto the area. Remedy any leakage.
