Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-500A
Condition
It is interpreted as a fault (fault signal) and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) (faulty signal) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) detects that the air conditioning (A/C) pressure does not rise by at least 61 kPa within 12 seconds from the time the first compressor activation is carried out.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed once per operating cycle, provided at least 15 minutes have passed since the previous operating cycle.
It is interpreted as a fault (missing signal) and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) detects that the pressure is lower than 97 kPa for 4 minutes, while the outside temperature is above 15 °C and the vehicle speed is above 50 km/h.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed continually when the conditions for outside temperature and vehicle speed are met.
Substitute value
- The engine cooling fan (FC) is activated at the predefined speed
- Air conditioning (A/C) shut off
- The A/C pressure is calculated at approximately 700 kPa.
Possible source
Faulty signal
- Contact resistance in the connectors
- Low pressure in the air conditioning (A/C) system
- Air conditioning (A/C) compressor.
Signal missing
- Contact resistance in the connectors
- Low pressure in the air conditioning (A/C) system
- Air conditioning (A/C) compressor.
Fault symptom[s]
- The air conditioning (A/C) compressor does not start, or runs sporadically.
