Condition




The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) detects that the battery voltage exceeds 16 V (high signal) or is below 8 V (low signal) and it is interpreted as a fault.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is diagnosed at ignition on and with the engine running.

Signal too high
- Damaged charging system.

Signal too low
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- The charging system is not functioning
- Damaged battery.

Fault symptom[s]
- The engine cuts out
- The starter motor turns but the engine does not start.
