Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-940C
Condition
The engine control module (ECM) receives information on brake pedal position via the CAN network. The status of the brake pedal position sensor is obtained from the brake control module (BCM). The status of the brake pedal switch is obtained from the central electronic module (CEM). The control module compares both the signals.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Information with invalid data has been received from the Brake control module (BCM).
- Quality factor too low
- The signal is outside its normal range.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition on.
Substitute value
- Cruise control is disengaged when the fault is active.
Possible source
- Damaged brake pedal sensor.
- Damaged brake control module (BCM).
- Fault in the control area network (CAN).
Fault symptom[s]
- Autostart; No Functionality
- Cruise control does not operate
