Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-960C

Condition
Engine control module (ECM) continuously receives information about the gear selector's position from Transmission control module (TCM) via the CAN-net.
Engine control module (ECM) checks the CAN-signal from transmission control module (TCM) compared to the signal that passes via the direct-connected cable from the gear selector.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The signals deviate from an expected value.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.

Substitute value
- None.

Possible source

Signal too high
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
- Internal fault in the transmission control module (TCM).

Faulty signal
- Faulty CAN communication.
- Internal fault in the transmission control module (TCM).

Quality factor too low
- Faulty CAN communication.
- Internal fault in the transmission control module (TCM).

Fault symptom[s]
- Autostart; No Functionality
