AFFECTED VEHICLES:

DTC's:

Description:
It has been found that the vehicle may exhibit an illuminated MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) and set DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) 900E and 9A0A at the same time.
The fault tracing in VIDA will lead to the replacement of the ECM (Engine Control Module) for an internal fault. In some cases this is not correct due to low battery voltage- see service procedure below.

Service:
Review the freeze frame data for the codes, if the battery voltage was below 10 volts when the codes were set follow fault tracing in VIDA for a weak charging system or poor connections at the battery.
If voltage is found to be adequate when the codes were set perform an ECM upgrade P/N 30668282.

Important:
Only an ECM upgrade should be performed not a reload.
