Component Tests and General Diagnostics
Checking the power supply and ground terminal
Power supply, parking assistance camera module (PAC)
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) is supplied power via a voltage input on the control module.
When the ignition is in position II, the voltage input is supplied power.
- Voltage input terminal #A6 is supplied power via a fuse from central electronic module (CEM). This power input governs the supply of power to the parking assistance camera module (PAC). It will not be possible to activate the control module if there is an open-circuit.
Checking the power supply
Check the power supply cable from the central electronic module (CEM) to parking assistance camera module (PAC) terminal #A6 for open circuit, loose connection, contact resistance and oxidation. Check the fuse. The voltage must be approximately battery voltage.
Ground connection, parking assistance camera module (PAC)
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) has a ground input. The ground input from the control module is connected to a ground terminal in the body via a ground lead. See the relevant wiring diagram for further information about the ground terminal.
- Ground input #A15 is power ground and connected to the ground connection in the body.
Checking the ground terminal
Check the ground cable between parking assistance camera module (PAC) terminal #A15 and the ground connection for open circuit, loose connection, contact resistance and oxidation. When the ignition is on, the voltage drop between the parking assistance camera module (PAC) ground connection and the chassis connection may not be greater than 0.5 V.
Remedy as necessary.
