INTRODUCTION
- NOTE! Read through the whole installation instruction before starting the work.
- The illustrations display the procedure in order of operation. The order of operation is repeated in the text section.
Navigation system, portable, Installation kit TMC
Applies to cars with portable Navigation system installed
- Turn the ignition key to position 0.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.
Note! Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.
Applies to cars with automatic gearbox
- Turn the ignition key to position II.
Applies to all models
- Move the gear selector lever to its rearmost position.
- Use a weatherstrip and pry off the gear selector panel at the rear edge.
- Press in the catches and remove the panel.

- Remove the two screws.
- Remove the bracket with the A/C panel and radio from the center console. Pull from the lower edge and then downwards until it releases from the mounting at the upper edge.
Note! Do not damage the removed components or the surrounding panels.

- Lay out a cloth to protect the tunnel console and unit, as illustrated. Depending on the design the cable may need to be disconnected and the unit placed to one side.
- Pull upward until the loudspeaker grille detaches. The loudspeaker grille is securely fastened by four clips. Move the tool closer to the clips to facilitate removal.
- Lift out the loudspeaker grille.
Note! Do not damage the dashboard.
- Disconnect the connector from the GPS cradle.
- Carefully pull up the cable for the GPS cradle to access the cable splice.
- Separate the splice and place the shorter cable to one side. There is a new cable in the kit.
- Remove the antenna cable from the media player.
- Take the TMC unit and the antenna cable from the kit and connect the antenna cable to OUT on the TMC unit.
- Insert the long cable with the green connector from the TMC unit up between the air vent and through the hole in the loudspeaker grill, the same way as the previously routed cable.
- Take the remaining cable harness with the three connectors from the kit and connect the two green connectors to the routed and existing cable harness.

- Carefully pry up and remove the catch in the receptacle housing on the cable terminal for the socket marked 1 for the media player. Use a thin pointed object.

- Carefully pry up the two small catches at the rear edge of the receptacle housing and carefully pull out the cable terminal.
- Carefully push the catch up on the angled connector on the antenna cable, connected to the TMC unit, and pull the cable terminal out from the receptacle housing.
- Take the newly removed receptacle housing and carefully push it into the loose cable terminal on the contact in the cable for the media player.
- Take the loose cable terminal in the antenna cable and carefully secure it in the receptacle housing to the cables for the media player.
- Press the catch securely into the receptacle housing.
- Connect the previously disconnected cable terminal on the cable from the media player's receptacle housing to IN on the TMC unit.
- Take foam tape from the kit.
- Cut off a suitable length for ferrite and all green connectors.
- Remove the masking tape.
- Wrap the ferrite using foam tape.
- Wrap the four connectors together with foam tape.
- Connect the gray connector to the GPS cradle.
- Secure the loudspeaker grille.
- Take foam tape from the kit.
- Remove the masking tape.
- Wrap the TMC unit with foam tape.
- Connect the antenna cable to the media player.
- Place the TMC unit together with the cable excess and other cables for the navigation equipment at the bottom of the centre console in a way that prevents trapping and chafing.
- If Navigation system portable and Navigation system, portable, Installation kit TMC are installed at the same time, secure all excess with the cable tie from the navigation kit.
- Reinstall the unit with the media player and climate panel.
- Tighten using the existing screws.
- Turn the ignition key to position II.
- Reconnect the battery negative lead.
Applies to cars where Navigation system portable and Navigation system, portable, Installation kit TMC are all installed.
