Checking the connector
Check the connector and terminals on the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Check for contact resistance. Check for oxidation.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.

Note! Some diagnostics for the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor are only performed under certain specific temperature conditions. This verification will not necessarily cover all types of detectable fault.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Read off the signal from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.
Check that the signal is within its permitted range.

No - VERIFICATION FAILED
