Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the torque in the engine by reading and interpreting signals from mass air flow sensor, electronic throttle unit and air pressure sensor in the inlet manifold. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the measured torque exceeds the requested torque, based on the pedal position and the engine speed (RPM).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in specific driving conditions.
