AFFECTED VEHICLES:

DESCRIPTION:

A problem has been identified with C30 rear park assist in combination with the introduction of new PAM (Park Assist Module) hardware, P/N 31275471. This hardware was introduced during 2009w23 production.

The problem is that the PAM software does an incorrect translation of the car configuration parameters which makes the rear park assist system too sensitive, i.e. false warnings. So far we have only seen this symptom on C30 vehicles.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION: New PAM Software has been developed.

SERVICE:

If the customer reports the Rear Park assist is too sensitive and the vehicle is within the chassis limitations in the header:

^ Check that the rear sensors are undamaged, and correctly installed.

^ If no obvious faults are found, download a PAM software upgrade P/N 30728074 - PAM Upgrade.
