Faulty Signal
Faulty signal
Checking status
- Ignition on.
Check whether the fault is permanent or intermittent by reading the signal from the fuel level sensor (via the central electronic module (CEM)) and checking that it is within its permitted range. Also check that it moves if the car is rocked gently, before stabilizing at a reasonable level.
An incorrect signal indicates that the fault is permanent. The fault is intermittent if the signal is within the permitted range.
Hint: If the tank is completely full, their may be no noticeable change in level if the car is rocked.
