Faulty signal

Checking the component




- Ignition on.
If the fault is intermittent, it has been registered previously but is no longer present. Intermittent faults can occur for a number of different reasons. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs.
Check that the power seat module (PSM) is receiving the signal from the hall sensor. Operate the relevant seat motor. Check whether the value counts upwards and downwards as the seat is moved in each direction.
The value should count up or down depending on seat operation.
Read off the value by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.









Is the function OK?

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Checking components and wiring

Checking components and wiring
Check the cable between power seat module (PSM) terminal #B13 (#13) and hall sensor 3. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the cable between power seat module (PSM) terminal #B9 (#9) and hall sensor 3. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit.

Hint: The hall sensor must generate a pulsed signal.

Remedy as necessary.
