Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-P001621

Condition

The engine control module (ECM) checks that the camshaft is in the correct position (angle) in relation to the position (angle) of the crankshaft using signals from the camshaft sensor and engine speed (RPM) sensor. If the camshaft position does not correspond to the crankshaft position, the control module adjusts the adaptation for the camshaft position. The adaptation value corresponds to the difference in position between the camshaft and crankshaft when the crankshaft is in its default position. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when adaptation is greater or less than a certain value.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when adaptation of the camshaft is carried out (adaptation occurs during engine braking).
