DESCRIPTION:

Volvo Cars of North America LLC (Volvo) has decided that a defect exists in certain model year 2010 S80 V70 XC70 and XC60 Partial Zero Emissions Vehicles (PZEV). The engine may stop at idle due to a disturbance in the signal between the crankshaft speed sensor and the Engine Control Module (ECM). If this condition occurs and when the vehicle is restarted the engine may run unevenly and the vehicle may need to be restarted again in order to regain normal engine behavior.

Recall 225 affects 6,971 vehicles in the U.S.

SERVICE:

The corrective action is to upgrade the ECM software using VIDA.

Note!
Cars not yet delivered must be upgraded prior to delivery to customers.

Note!
When purchasing/installing the above software VIDA may leave a message stating that the latest version of the software has already been installed. In cases like this the software has been installed after the car was marked with the claim type in QW90.
