DESCRIPTION:
White lines appearing like cracks may be seen in the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) in the DIM (Driver Information Module). See photo . The root cause is due to the flow of the Liquid crystal molecules being too high during the filling process of the LCD display. The defect is only visible with the instrument backlighting on.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION:





A DIM with new improved LCD has been introduced from the DIM production date of 2009-12-24. See date code on back side of the DIM.

The vehicle structure week and chassis limitations for when the improved DIMs have been introduced into production have not been defined.

SERVICE: Replace the DIM. Follow the procedures in RTJ 16420 and VIDA.
