Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair






AC compressor, replacement

Removal

Drain the refrigerant from the AC system. Refer to: Refrigerant, draining Refrigerant, Draining







Remove the following items:
- Air cleaner housing Refer to: Air cleaner housing, B6324S5 Service and Repair
- The auxiliaries belt. Refer to: Auxiliary belt, B6324S5 Service and Repair.




Torque: M6, 10 Nm





Slacken the tensioner using a 19 mm fixed wrench. Leave the tensioner in a slackened position. Use a 3 mm pin.





Torque: M8, 24 Nm

Torque: M10, 50 Nm






Note! Plug the terminals of the compressor using the transport plugs from the new compressor.

Torque: M6, 10 Nm

Torque: M8, 24 Nm

Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure

Vacuum pump the air conditioning system. Refer to: Vacuum pumping Vacuum Pumping.
Fill the air conditioning system with refrigerant. Refer to: Refrigerant, filling Filling With Refrigerant.
Leak-trace the air conditioning system. Refer to: Leak tracing, fluorescent tracing agent / UV lamp Leak Tracing, Fluorescent Tracing Agent/UV Lamp or Refer to: Leak tracing, electronic leak tracer Leak Tracing, Electronic Leak Tracer.
Carry out a performance test on the climate control system. Refer to: Climate system, performance test Climate System, Performance Test.
