Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The engine control module (ECM) checks the signal from the air temperature sensor in the intake manifold.
The diagnostic trouble code is generated if the control module detects that the value from the air temperature sensor deviates too much from the engine temperature, outside temperature or fuel temperature after the engine has been off for a long period of time.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed once per operating cycle with the ignition on, but only once engine temperature has fallen to approx. 55 °C from operating temperature since the previous operating cycle.
Substitute value
- The value for the inlet temperature is generated to equal to the value for the fuel temperature.
Possible source
- Contact resistance in connector.
- Damaged air temperature sensor (integrated in mass air flow sensor).
Fault symptom[s]
- Warning lights and chimes/Malfunction Indicator Light ("Check engine" light) indication/no indication
