Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-U030000
Condition
Engine control module (ECM) compares its own configuration-ID with the ID of the signal configuration that the central electronic module (CEM) sends out as a message on the CAN-network. This message is sent at regular intervals. If the configuration-IDs do not match, the diagnostic trouble code is generated. The diagnostic trouble code is also generated if communication between engine control module (ECM) and central electronic module (CEM) is or has been interrupted.
Note! In case of an open circuit in both CAN-cables, it is not possible to communicate with the engine control module (ECM). Therefore it will only be possible to read out the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) if this type of malfunction is intermittent. When the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored, the engine control module (ECM) responds to the diagnostic commands, however, normal CAN-communication Expulsion mode does not work.
Substitute value
- Nothing.
Possible source
- An incorrect CAN configuration-ID (current engine control module (ECM) is not designed for the vehicle, for example, a used control module with different hardware/software).
- A break in the CAN leads between the engine control module (ECM) and the central electronic module (CEM).
