Troubleshooting BCM-C002001

Checking pump motor function

- Ignition off
- Check the connectors of the brake control module (BCM) and the pump motor for contact resistance and oxidation.
- Reconnect the connectors, components, etc.
- Ignition on
- Activate the pump motor.
Check that the pump motor starts and runs normally.
If the pump motor starts and runs normally, the malfunction was probably caused by contact resistance and oxidation in the brake control module (BCM) or pump motor connectors.

No - Checking the wiring and component

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the wiring and component

- Ignition off
Check the pump motor circuit between brake control module (BCM) terminal #1 (#A1) and the battery for open circuit and short circuit to ground.
Check if the brake system fuse is damaged. If so, check the cable between the fuse and brake control module (BCM) terminal #1 (#A1) for short circuit to ground and then replace the fuse.
Check the pump motor circuit by connecting an ohmmeter between pump motor connector #2 and ground. The ohmmeter should indicate infinite resistance.
Remedy as necessary.

Checking the pump motor circuit

- Ignition off
- Remove the brake control module (BCM).
- Connect adapter 951 2856 Test cable 951 2856 Test cable to the pump motor voltage connection.
- Connect the red cable, connected across a fuse, to battery voltage. The black cable should be connected to a grounding point.
The pump motor should start when the cable is connected. Run for maximum 10 seconds.
If the pump motor starts and runs normally, replace the brake control module (BCM).
If the pump motor does not start, replace the hydraulic unit.
