Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The brake control module (BCM) receives wheel speed information by the wheel sensors, which are housed in the wheel mounting, reading off a toothed wheel on the wheel axle. If the control module registers that the signal from a wheel sensor is distorted or cut off too many times, diagnostic code BCM-C003101, BCM-C003401, BCM-C003701 or BCM-C003A01 is generated depending on which wheel sensor was involved.
- BCM-C003101: Wheel sensor, front left
- BCM-C003401: Wheel sensor, front right
- BCM-C003701: Wheel sensor, rear left
- BCM-C003A01: Wheel sensor, rear right
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed at speeds over 10 km/h (6.2 mph).
Substitute value
- ABS is blocked.
- EBD is blocked if two or more wheel sensors are inoperable.
- TC is blocked.
- SC is blocked.
- AYC is blocked.
- BA is blocked.

Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Open circuit, short circuit to ground or supply voltage on voltage feed to wheel sensor.
- The signal cables are short-circuited to one another.
- The signal cable is short-circuited to ground or supply voltage.
- Open circuit on signal cable.
- Damaged wheel sensor.
- Internal error in the control module
Fault symptom[s]
- General warning light on.
- ABS warning light on.
- Brake circuit not working; warning light on.
- ABS is not operational.
- Anti-spin is not operational.
- The stability function is not operational.
- The anti-skid function is not operational.
Note! If the malfunction is intermittent, the ABS warning light will go out when speed exceeds 10 km/h (6.2 mph) in the next operating cycle.
