Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting BCM-C006A01

Checking the connectors

- Ignition off
- Check the connectors of the brake control module (BCM) and AYC sensor for contact resistance and oxidation.
- Ignition on
- Wait approximately 60 seconds.
- Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
If the status of the diagnostic trouble code is intermittent, the malfunction was probably caused by contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors of the control module or AYC sensor.

Other information
- To access control module connectors: Connecting the breakout box, brake control module (BCM), B6324S5 Connecting The Breakout Box
- Active yaw control sensor, replacing Service and Repair
- Checking wiring and terminals Checking Wiring And Terminals

Is the status of the diagnostic trouble code intermittent?

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Checking the AYC sensor

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the AYC sensor

- Ignition off
- Breakout box connected to brake control module (BCM).
- Ignition on
- Read off the voltage feed to the brake control module (BCM).
Check the voltage feed to the AYC sensor by connecting a voltmeter between brake control module (BCM) terminals #6 (#A6) and #39 (#A39). The voltage value should approximately equal the value read out for the brake control module (BCM).
If the voltage feed to the AYC sensor is OK, replace the AYC sensor.
Remedy as necessary.

Other information
- Connecting the breakout box, brake control module (BCM), B6324S5 Connecting The Breakout Box
- Signal specification, brake control module (BCM) with DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control), B6324S5 Signal Specification, Brake Control Module (BCM) With DSTC (Dynamic Stability And Traction Control)
- Active yaw control sensor, replacing Service and Repair

Was the voltage OK?

Yes - Checking the wiring

No - Verification

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the wiring

- Ignition off
Check the cables for voltage feed between AYC sensor:
- terminal #3 and brake control module (BCM) terminal #6 (#A6)
- terminal #5 and brake control module (BCM) terminal #39 (#A39)
for short-circuit to ground and short circuit to voltage.
If the cables are OK, replace the brake control module (BCM).

Other information
- Connecting the breakout box, brake control module (BCM), B6324S5 Connecting The Breakout Box
- Signal specification, brake control module (BCM) with DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control), B6324S5 Signal Specification, Brake Control Module (BCM) With DSTC (Dynamic Stability And Traction Control)
- Brake Control Module (BCM), replacing Service and Repair
- Checking wiring and terminals Checking Wiring And Terminals.

Continue - Verification

Verification

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the malfunction has been remedied.

- Ignition off
- Reconnect the connectors, components, etc.
- Test-drive the vehicle according to Test Drive Form (DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) /brake control module), description Test Drive Form (DSTC (Dynamic Stability And Traction Control) /Brake Control Module), Description.

Note! Do not turn off the ignition between test-driving and reading out diagnostic trouble codes. This is to obtain the correct status of the diagnostic trouble codes.

Then read out the diagnostic trouble code's status without turning off the ignition after the test-drive.
