Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting BCM-C006A16
Checking diagnostic trouble code status
- Ignition off
- Check the connectors of the brake control module (BCM) and AYC sensor for contact resistance and oxidation.
- Test-drive the vehicle according to: Test Drive Form (DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) /brake control module), description Test Drive Form (DSTC (Dynamic Stability And Traction Control) /Brake Control Module), Description
- Ignition on
- Wait approximately 60 seconds.
- Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
If the status of the diagnostic trouble code is intermittent, the malfunction was probably caused by contact resistance or oxidation in the brake control module (BCM) or AYC sensor connector.
Other information
- For removal of the brake control module (BCM) connector: Connecting the breakout box, brake control module (BCM), B6324S5 Connecting The Breakout Box
- Active yaw control sensor, replacing Service and Repair
- Checking wiring and terminals Checking Wiring And Terminals
Is the status of the diagnostic trouble code intermittent?
Yes - FAULT FOUND
No - Checking the wiring
-------------------------------------------------
Checking the wiring
- Ignition off
- Connect a breakout box.
Check the cables for open circuit or short circuit to ground.
Measure between:
- AYC sensor connector terminal #3 and brake control module (BCM) terminal #6 (#A6).
- AYC sensor connector terminal #5 and brake control module (BCM) terminal #39 (#A39).
Other information
- Connecting the breakout box, brake control module (BCM), B6324S5 Connecting The Breakout Box
- Signal specification, brake control module (BCM) with DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control), B6324S5 Signal Specification, Brake Control Module (BCM) With DSTC (Dynamic Stability And Traction Control)
- Active yaw control sensor, replacing Service and Repair
- Checking wiring and terminals Checking Wiring And Terminals.
Was a malfunction detected?
Yes - Verification
No - Checking the voltage feed
-------------------------------------------------
Checking the voltage feed
- Ignition off
- Breakout box connected.
- Unplug the AYC sensor connector.
- Ignition on
Connect a voltmeter to terminals #6 (#A6) and #39 (#A39) on the breakout box.
The voltage should be normal system voltage.
If the voltage is OK, replace the AYC sensor.
If the voltage is incorrect, replace the brake control module (BCM).
Other information
- Active yaw control sensor, replacing Service and Repair
- Brake Control Module (BCM), replacing Service and Repair
- Signal specification, brake control module (BCM) with DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control), B6324S5 Signal Specification, Brake Control Module (BCM) With DSTC (Dynamic Stability And Traction Control)
Continue - Verification

Verification
Verification
Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the malfunction has been remedied.
- Ignition off
- Reconnect the connectors, components, etc.
- Test-drive the vehicle according to Test Drive Form (DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) /brake control module), description Test Drive Form (DSTC (Dynamic Stability And Traction Control) /Brake Control Module), Description.
Note! Do not turn off the ignition between test-driving and reading out diagnostic trouble codes. This is to obtain the correct status of the diagnostic trouble codes.
Then read out the diagnostic trouble code's status without turning off the ignition after the test-drive.
Is the status of the diagnostic trouble code intermittent?
Yes - VERIFIED
No - VERIFICATION FAILED

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
Do you want to exit fault-tracing?
Yes - Exit fault-tracing
No - Attempt New Test

Intermittent malfunction
Hint: The diagnostic trouble code status indicates that the brake control module (BCM) has previously registered a malfunction, but the malfunction is no longer active.
- Ignition off
Check the connectors of the brake control module (BCM) and AYC sensor for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the cables for intermittent open circuit or short circuit to ground.
Measure between:
- AYC sensor connector terminal #3 and brake control module (BCM) terminal #6 (#A6).
- AYC sensor connector terminal #5 and brake control module (BCM) terminal #39 (#A39).
