Condition




The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) is located in the Steering Wheel Module (SWM) from which it is supplied with power. It is however only the Steering Angle Sensor which communicates on the Control Area Network (CAN).
If the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) registers that the rate of change of steering angle exceeds 1433 °/second, the trouble code is set.
The trouble code may be diagnosed when the ignition is on and the angle sensor is initiated. The sensor is initiated by the steering wheel being turned by more than 4.5° in either direction.

Substitute value
- The stability function is blocked.

Possible source
- The wheel has bumped against something (e.g. a kerbstone).
- Internal fault in the control module

Fault symptom[s]
- The anti-spin warning lamp is illuminated.
- General warning lamp lit
- The stability function is not working.
