Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information CEM-8F1D

Condition

The central electronic module (CEM) checks the voltage on the driver circuits for the 15-supply and headlamp range adjustment. This is achieved by a common re-activation of the drive circuit.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the central electronic module (CEM) registers from the re-engagement signal that there is a short-circuit to supply voltage in the output from one of the drive circuits.
The DTC can be diagnosed with the key removed, in ignition position 0 or I.

Substitute value
- None.

Possible source
- The signal cable between the Central electronic module (CEM) and the left-hand headlamp range adjustment motor has a short-circuit to voltage.
- The signal cable between the Central electronic module (CEM) and the right-hand headlamp range adjustment motor has a short-circuit to voltage.
- The voltage supply cable between the left headlamp range adjustment motor and Central electronic module (CEM) has a short-circuit to voltage.
- The voltage supply cable between the right headlamp range adjustment motor and Central electronic module (CEM) has a short-circuit to voltage.
- The voltage supply cable between the Central electronic module (CEM) and brake control module (BCM), right and left electric power seats, BLIS, secondary fuel pump (via the Rear electronic module (REM)) or brake vacuum pump has a short-circuit to voltage.
- Fault on the signal cables between the ignition switch and the central electronic module (CEM) or internal fault in the ignition switch. In this case, DTCs 1A0X have been stored.
- Internal fault on the 15-supply in the central electronic module (CEM).

Fault symptom[s]
- Beam height control does not function.
- Automatic headlamp range control is not functioning.
- Incorrect setting for low beam.
