Diagnostic trouble code information BCM-U030087

Condition




The brake control module (BCM) is factory-programmed with software for several vehicle models. During the first ignition cycle, the brake control module (BCM) reads vehicle configuration data from the central electronic module (CEM) and then configures itself to the vehicle model and equipment.
The diagnostic trouble code can be generated if
- a brake control module (BCM) that was previously in a different vehicle model is installed
- a central electronic module (CEM) that was previously in a different vehicle model is installed
- software for a different vehicle model has been downloaded to the brake control module (BCM).

Substitute value
- TC is blocked.
- SC is blocked.
- AYC is blocked.

Possible source
- A brake control module (BCM) from a different vehicle model is installed.
- A central electronic module (CEM) from a different vehicle model is installed.
- Software for a different vehicle model has been downloaded to the brake control module (BCM).

Note! This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is not due to an internal hardware fault in the Brake control module (BCM) and must not be remedied by replacing the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- General warning light on.
- Anti-spin is not operational.
- The stability function is not operational.
- The anti-skid function is not operational.
