Caution! This diagnostic trouble code may be generated if the central electronic module (CEM) is replaced in the vehicle and either comes from another vehicle or is loaded with incompatible software.

Check that the correct central electronic module (CEM) is installed.
Check that the central electronic module (CEM) is loaded with the correct software for this vehicle. Read off the vehicle configuration via service for central electronic module (CEM).





Is this the correct central electronic module (CEM) and software?

Yes - Reprogramming BCM

No - No Fault Found

Note! The diagnostic trouble code may also be stored if the brake control module (BCM) has been tested in another vehicle that does not have engine B8444S.

The diagnostic trouble code may in certain cases have been stored after reprogramming of the brake system control module (BCM). If this is the case, then the brake control module (BCM) must be configured.

Yes - Resetting and configuring the brake control module (BCM)

No - Erasing diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)

- Ignition on
- Erase the diagnostic trouble codes from the brake control module (BCM).

- Wait approx. 1 minute.
- Ignition on
- Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Note! If the diagnostic trouble code no longer is stored, it may have been due to an intermittent malfunction or the brake control module (BCM) has been tested in another vehicle that does not have engine B8444S.

Yes - Resetting and configuring the brake control module (BCM)

No - FAULT FOUND
