Front Passenger's Airbag Replacement
NOTE: If replacing the front passenger's airbag after deployment, refer to Component Replacement/Inspection After Deployment Service and Repair for a complete list of other parts that must also be replaced.
Removal
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Procedures, then wait at least 3minutes before starting work.
2. Remove the glove box Glove Box Removal/Installation.
3. Disconnect the dashboard wire harness 4P connector (A) from front passenger's airbag 4P connector.
4. Remove the screws, then remove the passenger's dashboard ducts (A, B).
5. Detach the clip (A), then remove the mounting nuts (B) and the mounting bolts (C) from the bracket (D).
6. Remove the mounting nuts (A) from the front passenger's airbag (B), then remove the front passenger's airbag.
Installation
1. Place the front passenger's airbag (A) into the bracket. Tighten the front passenger's airbag new mounting nuts (B).
2. Install the bracket (A) with the new mounting bolts (B) and the new mounting nuts (C), then install the clip (D).
3. Install the passenger's dashboard ducts (A, B) with the screws.
NOTE: Make sure the passenger's dashboard ducts are connected securely.
4. Connect the dashboard wire harness 4P connector (A) to the front passenger's airbag 4P connector, then reinstall the glove box Glove Box Removal/Installation.
5. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure Procedures.
6. Clear any DTCs with the HDS Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
7. After installing the front passenger's airbag, confirm proper system operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode; the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
