- Oil collecting and extraction device -VAG1782-
- Protective glasses
Removing
CAUTION:
Do not run engine or tow vehicle with oil pan removed or when there is no automatic transmission fluid (ATF) in the transmission.
General repair notes. Refer to [Repair Information].
Observe cleanliness rules when working on automatic transmissions. Refer to [Clean Working Conditions].
Remove the noise insulation -arrows-.
Place used oil collection and extraction device (V.A.G 1782) under transmission.
CAUTION!
Wear protective glasses.
Remove ATF drain plug -1-.
Drain ATF.
Observe disposal regulations.
Remove oil pan bolts -arrow- diagonally and remove oil pan.
Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
Replace gaskets and oil seals.
Clean all magnets in the depressions of the oil pan. Ensure that the magnets are in full contact with the oil pan.
Thoroughly clean the sealing surface, removing the residual gasket material completely.
Tighten oil pan bolts -arrow- diagonally in several stages.
Tighten new drain plug -1-.
Fill with ATF. Refer to [ATF, Draining or Filling after Repair].
Tightening Specifications
- Drain plug to oil pan 40 Nm
- Oil pan to transmission housing 10 Nm
Tighten diagonally in stages.
