Transmission Mount: Service and Repair






Left and Right Transmission Supports

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

Transmission Support (3282)

Adjustment Plate (3282/19)

Removing

CAUTION!
If both transmission supports are removed, transmission must be supported as described. If only one support is removed, the other provides sufficient support.

- Mount the Transmission Support (3282) on the Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A).





- Set Template (3282/19) on to Transmission Support (3282) (template only fits in one position).

- Align the arms of the transmission support to correspond with the holes in the adjustment plate.

- Attach support elements on adjustment plate, as illustrated.

- Move Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A) with Transmission Mount (3282) under the transmission and support transmission.





The arrow symbol on the adjusting plate points in the direction of travel.

Left transmission support:

Left front exhaust pipe with primary and main catalytic converter removed.

- Remove the heat shield - C -, if equipped.





- Loosen left transmission support - D - by removing bolts - A - from transmission.

Right transmission support

Right front exhaust pipe, and, if equipped, primary and main catalytic converter removed.

- Remove the heat shield - C -, if equipped.





- Loosen right transmission support - D - by removing bolts - A - from transmission.

Left and right transmission support:

- Remove transmission supports - E -.





Items - C - and - B - are not installed on vehicles with hydraulic transmission bearing - H -, because bolt - G - is threaded directly into the transmission bearing.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Replace the self-locking nuts.
