Fluid Pan: Service and Repair






Automatic Transmission Fluid Oil Pan

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Assembly Pin (T40199)

Removing

Automatic transmission clean working conditions, refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

General repair instructions, refer to => [ Repair Information ] Repair Information.

- Remove the tunnel crossmember. Refer to => [ Tunnel Crossmember ] Tunnel Crossmember.

- Remove the transmission support with transmission mount. Refer to => [ Transmission Support with Transmission Mount ] Transmission Support With Transmission Mount

- Remove the subframe crossbrace.






- Drain the ATF - arrow - => [ ATF, Draining or Filling after Repair ] ATF, Draining or Filling After Repair.






- Remove the bolts from the ATF pan opposite the tightening sequence: - 13 to 1 -.

- Remove the ATF oil pan.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ ATF Pan, ATF Strainer and Mechatronic Overview ] Description and Operation.

Replace the seal.

Replace the ATF pan bolts.

With high mileage vehicles, replace the ATF strainer when the ATF pan is removed. Refer to => [ ATF Strainer ] Service and Repair. Otherwise the ATF strainer must be replaced only if it is damaged.

- Clean all magnets in the ATF oil pan. Make sure the magnets are in full contact with the ATF oil pan.

- Clean the sealing surface from all sealant residue.

- Install the (T40199) in locations - 10, 11, 12, and 13 - with the ATF pan removed.

The (T40199) center the gasket and the ATF oil pan. This will make sure the ATF oil pan seals correctly.

- Install the new gasket and ATF oil pan over the (T40199).

- Tighten the new ATF oil pan bolts in the following sequence: - 1 to 9 -.

- Remove the (T40199).

- Install the remaining bolts in sequence - 10, 11, 12, and 13 -.

- Install the subframe crossbrace.

- Install the transmission support with transmission mount. Refer to => [ Transmission Support with Transmission Mount ] Transmission Support With Transmission Mount

- Install tunnel crossmember. Refer to => [ Tunnel Crossmember ] Tunnel Crossmember.

- Fill the ATF. Refer to => [ ATF, Draining or Filling after Repair ] ATF, Draining or Filling After Repair.
