Rear Cigarette Lighter

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Release Tool for Cigarette Lighter (T40148)

Removing

- The release tabs - 2 - on the (T40148) must engage into the openings on the rear cigarette lighter (U9) - 3 - - arrow -, and the threaded pin - 1 - must slide down as far as the stop.





- Slide the (T40148) into the rear cigarette lighter - 2 - as far as the stop.





- Rotate the thumb wheel - 1 - on the (T40148) clockwise as far as the stop.

• The piston - 2 - is pulled upward and the release tabs - 1 - on the (T40148) spread - arrows -.





- Remove the rear cigarette lighter from the rear center console.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

CAUTION!
Risk of injury.

• After removing the (T40148), check to see if the lighter retaining tabs are bent.

• If the retaining tabs are bent, bend them back so the lighter does not slide out.

- Remove the support - 1 - on the (T40148).





- Slide the piston down and hold it in place.

- Rotate the thumb wheel - 4 - on the (T40148) counter-clockwise - arrow -. This loosens the release tabs - 2 - on the rear cigarette lights - 3 - so that the (T40148) can be removed.
