Fluid Pan: Description and Operation
ATF Pan, ATF Strainer and Mechatronic Overview
There is a risk of damaging the transmission.
• Do not start the engine when there is no ATF in the transmission or if the ATF pan has been removed.
• Always replace the Mechatronic unit if it is dirty or faulty.
• Automatic transmission clean working conditions, refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.
• General repair instructions, refer to => [ Repair Information ] Repair Information.
• Coat O-rings and seals with ATF. Other types of lubrication lead to faults in the transmission hydraulics.
1 Bolt
• 2.5 Nm plus an additional 90° turn
Replace
• Quantity: 13
• Follow the tightening sequence, refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Oil Pan ] Service and Repair
• Oil pan to transmission
2 ATF Drain Plug
Replace
• 12 Nm
3 ATF Inspection Plug
• 9 Nm
4 O-ring
Replace
5 ATF Pan
• Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Oil Pan ] Service and Repair
6 Magnet
• Quantity: 2 round magnets, different from illustration
• Ensure full surface contact
• Clean before installation
7 Cover Cap
• Inserted in oil pan opening
8 Not Installed
9 Oil Pan Seal
• Replace
10 Oil Screen
• Refer to => [ ATF Strainer ] Service and Repair
11 O-ring
Replace
12 Wiring Harness Connector Clip
13 Wiring Harness in Transmission
• With and without locking mechanisms on the connector depending on the build version

14 Bolt
• 8 Nm
