Coolant Shut-Off Valve (N82)
Coolant Shut-Off Valve (N82)
Mode of Operation
• The bracket - 4 - for the Coolant recirculation pump (V50) - 1 - and for the Coolant shut-off valve - 2 - is connected to the body via clip nuts - 6 - for noise reduction.
• The coolant shut-off valve and the coolant recirculation pump are connected directly to the bracket.
• The coolant shut-off valve is actuated via the A/C system control only in certain A/C system settings (for example, in "OFF" mode or if maximum cooling output is requested). The engine speed must be lower than 5000 RPM and the coolant temperature must be below 95° C (203° F).
• Shutting off the coolant circuit to the A/C system heater core accelerates the engine warm-up when the coolant is cold.
• The coolant shut-off valve is open without actuation. For the electrical function of the valve to be checked, actuation occurs at certain intervals (for example, brief actuation lasting approximately 1 second at every twentieth engine start).
