Rear Condensation Water Drains, Checking

Rear Condensation Water Drains, Checking

The front condensation water drain of rear A/C unit - A - can be checked from below with rear A/C unit - C - installed and the heat shield under the center tunnel removed.

The rear condensation water drain of rear A/C unit - B - can currently be checked from below with rear A/C unit - C - installed and the heat shield under the center tunnel installed.

In the version of the heat shield in the center tunnel installed at the start of production, condensation water drain - B - can be checked from below with the exhaust system and the driveshaft installed (the heat shield in the center tunnel ends before the drain). If a longer heat shield is used at a later time, the rear A/C unit or the heat shield in the center tunnel must be removed to check the condensation water drain.

This figure shows the floor panel of center tunnel - D - and the condensation water drains of A/C unit - A - and - B - from below with the exhaust system and driveshaft removed.

Detach cross bar - A -, exhaust system - C -, driveshaft - D -, and heat shield - B - from the vehicle and remove..

Checking

- Detach heat shield - B - in the center tunnel from the vehicle or remove (only if the front condensation water drain is to be checked)..

- Clean condensation water drain - B - from below, for example with a piece of wire (with the vehicle lifted and the heat shield installed).

- Clean condensation water drain - A - from below, for example with a piece of wire (with the vehicle lifted and the heat shield removed).

Condensation water drains - A - and - B - must not be sticky with wax or underbody sealant.

There is no valve in the two condensation water drains - A - and - B -.

When installing the heat shield under the center tunnel, ensure that it is not touching condensation water drains - A - (and - B -).

Both condensation water drains - A - and - B - are sealed with foam seal - E - from the inside with respect to the floor panel of center console - D -.

For the condensation water to drain out of the vehicle, condensation water drains - A - and - B - must protrude slightly from the floor panel of center console - D -.

Front condensation water drain - A - (installed in the area under the rear fresh air blower (V80) ) can be checked from above with the rear fresh air blower removed, refer to => [ Rear Fresh Air Blower (V80) With Rear A/C Unit ] Rear Fresh Air Blower (V80) With Rear A/C Unit.
