Note:
The protective features are bonded with window glass adhesive Instructions for Window Cementing (Security).
Armor plating (1) stuck into left/right in fresh-air duct Service and Repair(illustration on left).
When replacing fresh-air duct:
Stick in armor plating (1).
Armor plating (1) stuck into left/right microfilter Replacing Microfilter for Interior Ventilation air duct.
When replacing air duct:
Stick in armor plating (1).
Protective mat (1) stuck into left microfilter housing lower section Service and Repair
When replacing left microfilter housing lower section:
Bonding position, protective mat (1):
Place protective mat (1) on brake fluid expansion tank. Coat upper side of protective mat with window glass adhesive. Place left microfilter housing lower section in installation position, remove again and press protective mat down firmly in this position without slipping.
Protective feature, top left wheel arch and top left bulkhead:
Protective mat (1) bonded to top left wheel arch. Protective mat (2) bonded to top left bulkhead.
Protective feature control unit Service and Repair (DME):
Protective mat (1) inserted between right suspension strut dome (4) and electronics box control unit (3) and bonded to suspension strut dome. Protective mat (2) inserted between electronics box control unit housing (3) and wheel arch and bonded to wheel arch.
Armor plating is installed above original cover and secured with original bolts (1).
Protective mat (1) is only bonded in area (3) with armor plating (2).
