Fuel Supply Line: Service and Repair




13 53 175 - Removing and installing/replacing all pressure lines (N73)





Special tools required:
- 13 0 131
- 13 0 132
- 13 0 133





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove intake air manifold Service and Repair.





Recycling:
Fuel escapes when fuel lines are detached.
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.





Remove pressure sensors Service and Repair (1 to 6 and 7 to 12).

Important!
Remove only one pressure sensor at any one time.
Reinstall pressure sensor after completing work.

Screw in special tool 13 0 132.

Connect special tool 13 0 133 drain tube (1) to special tool 13 0 132.

Note:
Illustrations show cylinders 1 to 6.





Disconnect fuel feed line (1).
Connect special tool 13 0 131 to fuel feed line (1).
Drain fuel with compressed air (2) carefully from fuel feed line, cylinders 1 to 6.
Screw in pressure sensors 1 to 6 again.
Follow the same procedure for cylinders 7 to 12.

Note:
If necessary, use a pressure reducer for draining.





Release high pressure lines (1 and 6).
Release return lines (3).
Tightening torque: 13 53 6AZ 13 53 Fuel Injection Nozzles and Pipes
Detach high-pressure line (7).
Tightening torque: 13 53 7AZ 13 53 Fuel Injection Nozzles and Pipes
Release holders (2, 4 and 5).





Tighten high-pressure lines (2) with a ring wrench (1).
Tightening torque: 13 53 1AZ 13 53 Fuel Injection Nozzles and Pipes
Tightening torque: 13 53 2AZ 13 53 Fuel Injection Nozzles and Pipes
Tightening torque: 13 53 3AZ 13 53 Fuel Injection Nozzles and Pipes





Assemble engine.
Check fuel lines for leaks.
