Spoiler: Service and Repair
51 71 412 - Removing and installing/replacing rear spoiler
Special tools required:
- 51 0 010
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove trim for rear window frame
Release screws (1) with washers (2).
Unscrew nuts (3).
Lever out seal plugs (4) and release nuts underneath.
Tightening torque 51 71 1AZ Specifications.
Disconnect plug connections (1 and 5).
Disconnect hose (2).
Raise rear spoiler slightly and feed out grommets (3 and 4).
Remove rear spoiler.
Installation:
Make sure grommets (3 and 4) are correctly seated
Installation:
Always replace clips (1).
Following parts must not be damaged or missing:
(2) - 2 x felt (12 x 20 mm)
(3) - Studs (for adjusting rear spoiler)
(4) - Slide element
Installation:
Rear spoiler must be secured with cable tie (1) to outer slide elements (2) on left and right.
Retrofit if necessary.
Replacement:
Modify auxiliary brake light Service and Repair.
Adjusting rear spoiler:
Observe gap dimensions .
Press on rear spoiler (1) and measure negative protrusion of rear spoiler (1) to rear window (2) with special tool 51 0 010 .
A= - 1 ± 1 mm
If necessary, adjust rear spoiler (1) by means of stud (3).
