Circuit Description

The ignition system check provides a means of testing ignition system performance and references other charts for specific ignition conditions. This chart requires J 35616 jumper kit.

Notes on Chart

1. This procedure reduces spark advance. Engine RPM should drop as spark is retarded.

2. Make sure that spark plug wires are routed away from and are not contacting the ICM. This procedure grounds the bypass circuit and causes the ignition to operate in module mode. This may cause other DTC's to set.
