Engine Flywheel Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the powertrain. Refer to Powertrain Removal and Installation (Powertrain Removal and Installation).




2. Remove the driveline support assembly. Refer to Driveline Support Assembly Replacement (Driveline Support Assembly Replacement).
3. Remove the engine flywheel bolts.
4. Remove the engine flywheel.
5. Clean and inspect the engine flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Cleaning and Inspection (Overhaul).

Installation Procedure

1. Apply sealant to the flywheel mounting bolts. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Specifications).




2. Position the flywheel to the crankshaft.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the flywheel mounting bolts.

1. First Pass-Tighten the flywheel mounting bolts to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).
2. Final Pass-Tighten the flywheel mounting bolts an additional 50 degrees using the J 45059 .

4. Install the driveline support assembly. Refer to Driveline Support Assembly Replacement (Driveline Support Assembly Replacement).
5. Install the powertrain. Refer to Powertrain Removal and Installation (Powertrain Removal and Installation).
