Parking Brake Actuator Replacement

Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning (Brake Dust Warning).


1. Block the rear drive wheels.
2. Release the electronic park brake cable tension, if equipped. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling (Electric Park Brake) (Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling (Electric Park Brake)).
3. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (Service and Repair).




7. Disconnect the park brake cable from the actuator.
8. Remove the parking brake actuator (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the parking brake actuator (1).
2. Connect the park brake cable to the actuator.
3. Install the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Adjust the park brake. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment (Adjustments).
5. Set the electric park brake cable tension. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling (Electric Park Brake) (Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling (Electric Park Brake)).
6. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
