System Diagnosis


















Preliminary Checks

Repair the following components as necessary. The A/C system is operating properly if the discharge air temperature and compressor pressures are equal to those in the System Performance Test.

1. Inspect the A/C fuse. Refer to HVAC System Check Testing and Inspection
2. Inspect the blower motor for proper operation. Refer to HVAC System Check. Testing and Inspection
3. Inspect the temperature cable operation. Move the temperature control rapidly from full cold to full hot. Listen for the door hitting at each end. Adjust as necessary.
4. Inspect the compressor drive belt for proper installation.
5. Inspect the compressor clutch wire connector for an open or poor connection.
6. Inspect the cooling fan system for proper operation. Refer to HVAC System Check in Engine Cooling. Cooling System
7. Inspect the condenser for restricted air flow.
8. Inspect the system for any restrictions in airflow. Refer to Air Delivery Improper. Air Delivery Improper
9. Consult Dealer Technical Bulletins and the Service Guild for updates on the A/C system.
