Battery Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative (7) battery cable (3) from the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the positive battery cable (9) from the positive (+) battery terminal.
3. Remove the two nuts and the battery retainer (8) from the hold down brackets.
4. Remove the battery (7) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the battery (7) into the vehicle. Position the battery into the carrier.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the battery retainer (8) to the hold down brackets. Secure with two nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the battery hold down bracket nuts to 8 N-m (71 lb in).

3. Connect the positive (+) battery cable (9) to the positive (+) battery terminal.

Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable-to-battery terminal to 15 N-m (11 lb ft).

4. Install the negative (-) battery cable (3) to the negative (-) battery terminal.

Tighten
Tighten the negative battery cable-to-battery terminal to 15 N-m (11 lb ft).
