Hood: Adjustments




Hood Adjustment

The hood hinges are bolted to the fender and the hood. Fore-aft adjustment may be made by elongating the hood-side hinge holes. Vertical adjustment at the front may be made by adjusting the hood bumpers up or down. Gap tolerances are 2-6 mm (0.08-0.22 in) and flush tolerances are 0-2 mm (0-0.08 in).

Adjustment Procedure

1. Open the hood.




2. Loosen the hood hinge to hood bolts. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Adjust the hood to the fender position.
4. Close the hood.
5. Check the alignment.
6. Open the hood.
7. Adjust the hood as needed.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

8. Tighten the hood hinge to hood bolts.

Tighten the hood hinge to hood bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




9. Adjust the hood bumpers.
10. Close the hood.
